Kimberly Sue (Pauna) Bahr, 53, of Bemidji, MN, passed away peacefully in her home on October 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Evangelical Free Church in Bemidji, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Nary Cemetery in Bemidji, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji
Kim was born on December 27, 1970, to Clyde and Bonnie (Benham) Jessen. She graduated from Menahga High School in 1989 and went on to complete her education at Northwest Technical College in Wadena to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Kim married Douglas Pauna in 1991, and although they did not remain married, they raised two daughters together.
In 2011, Kim married Charles Bahr and lovingly cared for his children as if they were her own. Kim had a vibrant personality and cherished spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. She found joy in sitting around a campfire, playing card games, or simply enjoying the outdoors from the deck while visiting with loved ones. Kim loved her grandchildren and was always excited to see them.
Kim worked most recently as an LPN at Sanford Clinic in Bemidji, where she was well-known and loved by her coworkers and patients. She was nominated for and received numerous nursing awards throughout her career. Even after receiving her cancer diagnosis, Kim continued to form new friendships with the compassionate staff at the Joe Lueken Cancer Center who cared for her.
Kim is survived by her husband, Charles; her daughters, Ashley (Cedric) Citrowske and Amber Pauna; her step-children, Kelsey (Riley) Yarbrough, Tyler Bahr, Michael (Stephanie) Bahr, Brandon Bahr, and Holly Bahr; her grandchildren, Everett, Ava, Landon, Bonnie, Claire, Michael, and Clayton; her mother, Bonnie Jessen; her siblings, Kevin (Christine) Jessen and Cheryl "Squeak" (Darwin) Horgeshimer; and numerous other family members and friends.
Kim was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Jessen.
In lieu of flowers, Kim requested that donations be made to the Joe Lueken Cancer Center.
