Anna M. Bahr

Anna M. Bahr, age 94, of Byram Twp., NJ, died on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.
Anna was born and raised in East Orange, NJ to the late Frank and Mary (Aloia) Gruenling. After high school Anna started her career at Geiger Brothers, publishers of the Farmers' Almanac as an administrative assistant. It was a few years later in 1953 that Anna married the love of her life, Peter J. Bahr. In 1959 the pair moved to Byram Twp. after living in Livingston, NJ and Anna took on a new role as homemaker in their newly built home. After their three children had grown, Anna earned her Associates Degree with Honors from CCM and reentered the workforce as a teacher's aid at Byram Twp. Intermediate School. When her husband bought the company Robert Huetz & Son, Inc., she stepped into the role of Office Manager and Bookkeeper.
She and her husband would love to frequent casinos together, often leaving work together on a Friday and spending their whole weekend in Atlantic City. The pair would travel much further than South jersey though, and would vacation and visit relatives all across Europe, they especially enjoyed travelling to Tanglewood, MA to see the Boston Symphony Orchestra perform. Summer camping trips to New England and the Outer Banks, NC with family and friends were cherished.
Anna loved her crafts. She was a talented seamstress and worked many hours with both crochet hooks and sewing needles. Over the years, everyone in her family had been gifted her beautiful quilts and blankets. Her talents with yarn and in the kitchen led her to becoming a ribbon winner at Sussex County's Farm and Horse show for her blankets and baked goods.
She is survived by three children, Marianne Oleinyk, Kevin Bahr (Rita), and Christopher Bahr (Elena); predeceased by infant daughter Teresa; Survived by two siblings, Frank Gruenling (Virginia) of Nebraska, and Joseph Gruenling of Pennsylvania; her Grandsons, Andreas & Evan Oleinyk; as well as many Cousins, Nieces, & Nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 30th from 4:00-6:00 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, 31 Main Street, Netcong, NJ 07857. Mass will be held Wednesday, October 1st, at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Church, 48 Tranquility Rd., Andover, NJ. Interment will be private.
