Kimberly Blackwell Bridges

Kimberly Blackwell Bridges, age 63, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026 at the Spartanburg Restorative Care Center.

Kimberly was born Wednesday, June 27, 1962 in Columbia, SC to Betty Thompson Blackwell Cobb who resides in Rutherfordton and to the late Clay Blackwell. She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1980. Kimberly worked in management for Hardees for ten years and for McDonalds for twenty-five years. She later became a caregiver for the elderly. Kimberly was a member of Brooklyn Baptist Church in Chesnee. She was known for her big heart, her desire to help anyone in need and would sacrificially give to be a blessing to others. Kimberly also loved her fur babies.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-four years, Kenneth Lee Bridges.

Besides her mother, those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Stephanie Collins (Todd) of Rutherfordton; her beloved nephews, Kyle Collins (Hayle) and Clay Collins (Brenn); great nephew, Axton Collins; great nieces, Abreigh Collins, Klara Collins and a special friend, Gene Barnett.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 22nd at the Brooklyn Baptist Church, 8449 Parris Bridge Road, Chesnee, SC 29323 with Reverend Clay Collins and Mr. Kyle Collins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
