Kimberly Ann Bland, 59, of Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Kimberly Ann Bland, an exuberant spirit, kind soul, and beloved woman, ascended from this life on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Genesis Rehabilitation center in Waldorf, MD. Kimberly, the fighter she was, briefly battled a case of Pneumonia. However, God graced her to not have to fight any longer and to finally rest in His eternal arms of peace. Kimberly was born on April 6, 1965 in Washington DC to her Mother Elenora Butler Bland and late Father James D. Bland. Her proud parents welcomed not only one, but two bouncing baby girls whom are now peacefully joined together again-Kimberly Ann and Monica Lea Bland (Harris). Her spiritual development began at an early age when she attended her family church, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist church in Marbury, Maryland.
During her elementary school years, Kimberly attended Dupont Park Seventh Day Adventist School and Randle Highland's Private School. She received her High School Diploma from Saint Cecelia's Catholic School. For over 3 years, a purpose-filled Kimberly attended Bowie State University and majored in Social work and participated in gymnastics. However, she later embraced a new field for which she found great joy: Education. Upon entering the field of teaching in the 90s, Kimberly taught at Choice Academy, Ron Brown, Cardozo High School, and Miner Elementary. As you can imagine, she absolutely loved her students, which graced her classroom over the years. In addition to working in the field of Education with DC and PG County public school systems, Kimberly was a certified Tax Preparer and Notary. Like her late twin sister, Monica, Kimberly worked as a Tax Preparer for Tate, Tate, and Tate for over 20 years. Again-she was a faithful worker.
Although Kimberly was an avid and hard worker, don't get it twisted-she was THE LIFE of the party! So many adored her and she was indeed the essence of a social butterfly. Kimberly was a diehard Redskins (Now "The Commanders") fan-HTTR! She loved life and laughter and one of her favorite shows to watch was the acclaimed comedy sitcom "Martin." Kimberly had unique interest. One such interests was found in collecting a myriad of Black dolls, figurines, and art pieces. She had a great eye for pieces that spoke to the soul. Not to mention she was a chef extraordinaire and could cook her socks off. She loved dogs and found them as loyal companions. However, her greatest love, pride, and joy was bonded, since 1988, in the face and being of her birthed son-Brandyn Bland of whom misses her beyond words as he continues forth bravely in legacy of his Mom, the late and great,-Kimberly Ann Bland.
Kimberly's mark has left the following to mourn her beautiful departed soul: Elenora Butler Bland (Mother), Brandyn Bland (Birthed Son), Kimoni Cush (Son at heart), Latisha Dennis (Daughter at heart), Eudora Chelsey (Aunt), Maiya Leah Harris (Niece), Melissa Warren (Sister in Law by way of late Brian Bland), Lisa Saunders, Shelby Reed, Tracy Pratt, Jerome Tate, and Jonathan Washington (Close Friends), as well as a host of near and dear beloved souls which she met along the way. Departed prior to Kimberly, in memory, are the following: James D. Bland (Father), Brian Bland and Monica Lea Bland Harris (Siblings).
Viewing, 9:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2024, until time of Service, 11:00 a.m., at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 5560 Pleasant Grove Road, Marbury, Maryland 20658.

Saddened to hear of her passing but loved how exuberant she lived life. First met Kim as a freshman at Bowie State College (University) where we embarked on a friendship that continued for many years after. Unfortunately I didn't have connections with either of my college roommates but was happy to meet two others (her & Tracy) who brought me in as a third wheel over 40 years ago. Although we lost touch, I will always have found memories of her warmth and upbeat personality. Extending my prayers and condolences to the friends and family who will miss her most.

Kim, I don't even know where to start. This one hurts like crazy. I remember wobbling into your office at Tate, Tate and Tate in 1999 pregnant with my first-born son (Daniel). We connected and bonded from that day forward. You were more than a Tax Preparer for me, we became sisters. When Monica joined the Tate Team, we became triplets. You would call me off tax season just to catch up on the thing's life was throwing my way as a True Aries would do. As I gave birth to two more boys, we discussed the rearing of Brandyn, Daniel, Tariq and Cameron. We compared the do's and the don'ts with caring for the boys. You were my Aries Sister, My Big Sister, My Calm before I blow up, My Listening Ear. We talked about soooo much and I could relate. This one hurts Kimmy...I am lost for words. I am barely able to type as the tears are uncontrollably streaming down my face. I called you and texted you and couldn't understand why you were not answering. It never dawned on me that God had come and hand-picked you for HIS garden. It is well with my soul as I know you are in HEAVEN but the pain in my heart is going to burn a little bit because I don't have you in the Human Form.

Thank you for being the person GOD created you to be. Thank GOD for introducing you to me and placing you in my life for over 25 years. Too Know You IS to LOVE You and there is no doubt about that. While I am not able to be physically present to pay my last respects to your flesh, I will always carry you in my HEART! Heaven has gained a special person and me & the boys have gained a Heavenly Angel. I Love You Kim and miss you already! The impression you left on so many people lives is a wonderful thing.

God Bless the Bland Family! I pray for strength and encouragement during this difficult time. My heart is with you all and I will keep you in my prayers!

This one HURTS!!

Love,

Kim will be deeply missed! I began having my taxes prepared by Kim in the early 2000s, and I always looked forward to our annual meetings filled with laughter and good-natured banter. We would share jokes and enjoy each other's company so much. Her passing has left us all in shock, especially since we were eagerly anticipating seeing her again in February 2025. My heartfelt condolences go out to her son, mother, and the rest of her family. Kim truly was a joy to be around. May she rest in peace.
