Kimberly Jo Brasfield

Kimberly Jo Brasfield, 63, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Friday, March 11, 2022, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.
Born Tuesday, October 21, 1958 in Dover, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Joseph L. Gilmer and the late Shirley Darlene Pruett Gilmer. Mrs. Brasfield was a former special education teacher with the Dyer County School System and member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brasfield will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Newbern, Tennessee.Officiating this service will be Pastor David Richards, Bro. Mark LaRue and Chaplain Brent Pearce. Interment will be held at Providence Cemetery near Friendship, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Newbern, Tennessee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Andy E. Brasfield of Newbern, Tennessee; one son, Brooks E. Brasfield (Morgan) of Nashville, Tennessee, her father, Joseph L. Gilmer of Mary Esther, Florida; one sister, Terri Hudgens (Bob) of Mary Esther, Florida; her aunt, Rhonda Casteel of Rockfield, Kentucky and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Darlene Pruett Gilmer.
Honoring Mrs. Brasfield as pallbearers will be Bob Hudgens, John Casteel, Dean Armour, Alan Burchfiel, and Carter Crews.
The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the Special Olympics of Tennessee, 461 Craighead Street, Nashville, Tennessee 37204.
