Kimberly Dotson

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Kimberly Dotson, age 63, of Freeburn, KY, on March 5th, 2024, while inpatient at Pikeville Medical Center, and was welcomed into the arms of her Savior. She was born on June 5th, 1960 in Williamson, WV, a cherished daughter of the late Ralph and Yvonne "Baker" Dotson. In addition to Kim's parents, she was also preceded by her brother, Barry Dotson.
Coach Kim, as everyone knew her by, was a pillar of the Phelps and Freeburn communities. She had such a sweet, kind, and humble spirit and she always put others before herself. Kim was the dedicated coach of Freeburn Area Little League for 35 years. Her main team was the Phillies, and her motto was, "It's all about the kids." She strived to be a positive influence in her kids' lives that she mentored. Kim's love and leadership will never be forgotten. She also coached basketball for several years. In her spare time, she loved to read and watch movies, collect baseball cards and mining stickers. Kim was an avid UK Basketball fan. Most of all, Kim loved serving the Lord and was a member of Freeburn Church of God. She loved going to church and talking to her friends. Kim's legacy will live on in the memories of each child she was a blessing to.
Those remaining to remember Kim's love include her brother, Steven Dotson of Phelps, KY; nieces, Kayci (Gabriel) Berry of Ransom, KY, and Lisa (Paul) Barrett of Barbourville, KY; nephew, Ray (Kayla) Daniels; sisters in law, Cindy Dotson of Majestic, KY, and Jane Dotson of Phelps, KY, great nieces and nephews, Aelin Berry, Hayley Barrett, Brystol, and Bailey Daniels, Ryan Wolford, Richie (Makaleigh) Wolford, Eric, Caden, and Cameron Daniels.
Kim also leaves behind a host of friends, family, and her children she coached.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made at Jones & West Funeral Home.
The family would like to welcome friends for visitation at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at Freeburn Church of God with special services at 7:00 P.M. with pastor Dennie Land officiating.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, March 10th, 2024, at the church.
Interment will conclude at the Dotson Cemetery in Phelps, KY.
