The secret of happiness is to live moment by moment and to thank God for all that He, in His goodness, sends to us day after day."
--St. Gianna Molla
Kimberly Hofstede, was sent to her eternal home-the heavenly garden-on January 6th, 2026.
She was born on August 6th, 1966 to Patricia and Bennett Foote, in
Cambridge, Minnesota. In high school, she volunteered at Cambridge Memorial Hospital as a nursing assistant. While attending Anoka Vocational Technical College, she met her husband, Thomas Hofstede. After college, she worked as a medical transcriptionist at the Medical Arts Building in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She and her husband Tom then moved to
Cambridge, Minnesota, where they started raising their two sons. They created many beautiful memories as a family; often having traveled to Walt Disney World and all throughout the northern mid-west due to "the boys'" sports camps and tournaments.
Kim was a wonderfully kind and loving person that could always be found with a warm smile on her face. She enjoyed cooking and baking for others and was famous for her chocolate chip cookie bars. She was affectionately known as "Grammy Kim" by her grandchildren and was frequently caught sneaking sweet treats with them.
In addition to her love of family, Kim had a deep compassion for others. Her giving spirit meant she found joy in volunteering her time. She volunteered at a local Houston animal shelter and always had several dogs of her own at home. She could often be found with a dog on her lap and had special sympathy for those animals that required extra care, love, and attention. She also spent time volunteering with a food shelter, a homeless shelter, and as a church volunteer. She was active in a small group bible study and was a parishioner at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Survived by husband Thomas of 38 years; two sons, Tyler Hofstede (Kara) and Mitchell Hofstede (Jessica); Mother Patricia Foote; sister Tracy Foote; as well as three grandchildren, Aurora, Bennett, and Vivian; two nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
Kimberly is preceded in death by her father Bennett Foote.
There will be a visitation and rosary on Wednesday, January 14th at 6 PM, held at Klein Funeral Home in
Tomball, Texas (1400 West Main,
Tomball, Texas 77375).
She found solace, community, and joy at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where her funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 15th at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel (8715 Kuykendahl Road, The Woodlands, Texas 77382).
