TECUMSEH-Kimberly Ann McBride, age 76, of Tecumseh, died Wednesday evening, April 9, 2025, surrounded in love at her home following a battle with cancer. She was born in South Bend, IN on June 30, 1948, the only child of the late James and Josephine (McCoy) Clark. She grew up in Niles, MI, where she graduated high school with the Class of 1966.
After high school, Kim sought higher learning at Western Michigan University, where she met the love of her life, Carl Eugene McBride of Charlevoix. The two became husband and wife on May 13, 1967, at a ceremony in Niles. They raised two children and were blessed with nearly 58 wonderful years of companionship.
While she primarily raised her children and served as a matriarch, Kim was also employed over the years at Joann Fabrics in Adrian, as well as worked as an aide at Patterson Elementary School and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
Kim was a colorful and creative free spirit, who loved to employ her artistic talents at crafting, especially marketing her jewelry with her business "Just Kim". Vanity was important to Kim, and she took pride in both her health and daily appearance. Family and friends were a priority in her life. She was a very involved mother and grandmother, who supported her family in any way she could, including her active roles in Girl Scouts and Al-Anon, and supportive presence at every sporting event or school activity. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crafting and reading, collecting flamingos, and she loved getting together with friends for lunch. She and Carl were an admirable couple who were seemingly inseparable, and they were blessed with several bus tours all over the country. Her exuberant presence will be sorely missed.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Carl, is her son, Carl James McBride (Susan Milbert) of Livonia; her daughter, Jen (Brian) Gilmore of Clinton; and her two granddaughters, Serena Lopez and Breana Kandik.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Tecumseh. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 15, from Noon until a funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Diane White will officiate. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in her honor are suggested to Hospice of Lenawee, the Lenawee Humane Society, or Little Mews Rescue. Friends can express sympathies to the family online by visiting the tribute wall at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

I always enjoyed time with Kim. She had a wonderful way of expressing herself, and she shared her experience, strength and hopes when we would talk. She will be remembered by me as a wise and kind friend.
