Kimberly Mccomb Obituary
Age 44
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet "Kimmie" after a long but fearless battle with cancer that never defined her. She was surrounded by her family and love in her final hours. She was a deeply loved daughter,sister,aunt,great-aunt,niece,cousin and friend. "Kimmie" loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping,fishing,vintage store shopping, spending time with her family and friends and her cat, "sweet Pea." What brought her the most joy, was music. It was her heart and soul. She loved live music and playing her vinyl records on her most treasured record player. She was a ray of sunshine with a witty sense of humor and a cheerfulness that was contagious to anyone around her. Her unwavering strength was an inspiration to anyone that knew her. The family would like to send a special thank-you to the staff at Cancer Care NW, and Gamma Knife of Spokane for the many years of compassionate care. A celebration of "Kimmies" life will be held at Nashville North (6361 W. Seltice Way Post Falls, ID 84854) Saturday April 22nd 2-4pm

It's been two years and when I think of her, a suffocating sorrow still grips me. I didn't hear of her passing until April 2023, but I knew something was wrong, because I had been texting her for months, with no reply, but I didn't want to do that search. She was one of the greatest friends I've ever had, and one of my greatest loves. I loved her dearly. I still have her number in my phone, and I still text her from time to time. There are so many stories I want to tell, but I'll stick with the most precious memory I have (they're all precious of course) I'll keep it short. Summer 1996. Before I left for college in Illinois. Middle of the night. Perfect night. Her and I, and some of her friends, driving aimlessly, decided it would be glorious to take a dip in the Spokane River. No swimsuits. So in our underwear it was We swam, we splashed, we laughed, and at some point, so suddenly, she was in my arms, giving me a beautiful kiss. We smiled at the end, before our lips parted. And just floated together under the moon. R.E.M. has a song called "Nightswimming" that we adopted as sort of ours. There's so much I could say. About crazy adventures in Spokane, to somehow finding ourselves both in Nashville, where I still live. I think about her everyday and my heart still aches. I hope someone in her family sees this. I've felt a sense of emptiness, not being able to express this. But it's taken me this long, to express it. Kimmie, I love you so much and miss you terribly. I'll see you when I get there.

I feel so blessed to have known Kimmie and am thankful for all our conversations together. I will always treasure our friendship. Her road was long, but she never let much keep her down. I have such respect and love for her spirit. See you later Kimmie, love and hugs.

Sincerest condolences to the McComb family at this time...Kimmie was an amazing lady n i remember last seein her at our last Kelly Krew Reunion at NN n she saw me n said "give me a hug sweetie" you cant be sad around her cuz her smile melted ur heart ... I knew her a lil bit but her hugs made you feel you knew her all your life I'd never had known if her awesome brother Jeremy wouldn't have posted..Thank You Bro... Love & Miss You Miss Kimmie n thank you for being an amazing friend!!!!
