Kimberly Burd Royal, age 64, passed away on July 4th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 18th, 1961, in Ann Arbor Michigan to Judith Kazda Burd and William Clare Burd. Following the death of her parent's her aunt Sally Stites; her uncle Ronald Stites stepped into the parental roll and offered nurturing support for the remainder of her life.
Kimberly was an accomplished educator, having earned a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees. Her passion for education shone brightly as she inspired countless children and colleagues.
Kimberly lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and devotion to those she held dear. Her radiant spirit and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Above all, Kimberly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her infectious laughter, kind heart, and nurturing spirit created cherished memories for those she loved. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who filled her heart with warmth.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Royal; her children, Ryan (Isabelle) Royal and Elizabeth (Adam) Grimm; her stepson Jeremy Royal; her siblings, Bill (Michelle) Burd and Teri (Shawn) Hagwood; her grandchildren, Elena, AJ, Landon, and Arthur; cousin, Ron (Amanda) Stites. Kimberly's legacy of love and family will live on through them.
