Kimberly Anne Sambenedetto

Age 53, went home to be with Jesus after an honorable and courageous fight with cancer. She was surrounded by her faithful husband and her three youngest daughters when she went home.
Kim was born in Kentucky to Robert and Gloria Robinson on July 02, 1970. She was a smart student, very much into fashion and beauty. After high school she joined the United States Air Force and met the love of her life, Dan Sambenedetto in California. They were married and began a family. Both Kim and Dan decided to transition out of the military and raise their little family in Florida. Kim and Dan went on to have five wonderful daughters. Kim was an amazing full-time stay-at-home mother, homeschooling all five girls, and she was the heartbeat of the family. Most of Kim's life was spent raising her daughters and all of the fun, love, and chaos that went with it. Kim helped spearhead the statewide effort to require local school districts to pay for books and instructional materials for dual-enrolled home school students, just as already required for dual-enrolled public school students. As her daughters slowly left home, Kim loved the transition to new work environments. She worked for several mortgage companies and obtained her Mortgage Loan Originator License, and then worked for the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners. Kim then became a professional Cruiser with her husband Dan. She always loved the beach, the sun, and anything tropical or coastal. She was meant to cruise and drink beverages with little umbrellas. She loved going on adventures with Dan and lit up when talking about her trips.
Kim was a lot of things to a lot of people. She was a Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend. She was funny, witty, smart, creative, beautiful, bold, tenacious, brave, strong, fun-loving, and steadfast in The Lord. Kim was a follower of Jesus Christ and as she battled cancer she was often reminded of her favorite Stonewall Jackson quote "... my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave." Kim lived her life this way and she was brave and finished well.
Kim is survived by her faithful and loving husband Dan and their five daughters: Rachel, Laurie, Kelly, Megan, and Allison. She is also a beloved Mimi to eight grandchildren. Kim is also survived by her parents Robert and Gloria Robinson, dear sister Jennifer, and her Aunt Tanya and numerous other family members.
We will all deeply miss Kim/Mom/Mimi. She is irreplaceable, but our burden is made lighter knowing she no longer suffers and is with our Lord and Savior. Please wear a bright color or pop a little umbrella in your next beverage to honor her life and love. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Institute for Cancer Research or your local charity of choice in her name.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony honoring Kimberly's life and legacy will be held February 3rd at 5:30 pm located in the Fellowship Hall Building at Rocky Bayou Baptist Church, 2401 Partin Dr N, Niceville FL, 32578. Dinner will be served. Dress code is dressy-casual (no black please).
