Kimberly Vick Obituary

Kimberly Sue Vick (Kim), age 62, passed away on May 8, 2024 in Germantown, TN.

She was born on April 27, 1962 in Maryville, TN. Kim was a beloved daughter of Emily and Hugh Vick of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

She is survived by her parents, her sister Michelle Vick Fulmer and brother-in-law Arthur Fulmer of Germantown, TN, niece Phoebe Fulmer of Nashville, TN and nephew Hill Fulmer of Dallas, TX. She was predeceased by her brother, William Hugh Vick.

Kim graduated from Jonesboro High School in Arkansas, and Rhodes College in Memphis, TN with a BA in Studio Art. After graduation, she traveled in Europe to see the exquisite art, then friends convinced her to move to New York City to begin her career. She worked there as the registrar at Acquavella Galleries for over 30 years. She had an amazing knowledge of art and the art world. Walking in Manhattan with Kim was always entertaining. She knew almost every block and always had a story about who lived where or if anything interesting had happened there.

Kim had a great sense of humor, and she retained a childlike wonder throughout her whole life. She had an eye for beauty that she shared with others. She loved plants and flowers and was always pleased to have her orchids rebloom again and again. Kim was devoted to animals, especially dogs and deer. Her beloved Aussiedoodle, Matilda, was her faithful companion and she frequently recounted her deer sightings to her sister.

In her younger years, Kim participated in a variety of sports including volleyball, tennis and golf. She also proudly completed two NYC marathons. After many successful years in New York City, Kim returned to Memphis/ Germantown to be near her family.

She will be remembered for her kindness, love of beauty, and passion for life.

A celebration of Kim's life will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, Memphis, TN on Wednesday, May 22 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Calvary Episcopal Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a non-profit of the donor's choice.

Rest in Peace Kim Vick! Many of us are just now learning of your passing. What a Joy you were to be around, when we were in school. You would flash that smile and knock us on our behinds! :). You were very special and will be missed, for sure! God Bless. Glenn Foster, on behalf of your graduating Class of 1980, Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Kimmy Sue, rest in peace my dearest friend. May the angels light your path and may you be at peace. I will always think of you and remember your smile, your dancing and singing. The memory of you will always be in my heart. Thank you for being an amazing friend. In my heart I see you at the rainbow bridge reunited with Bella, Luna, Lupo and dancing with joy.
I will miss you my sister from another mother.

So sorry for this news. To give some idea of the impression she made, I have not seen her since 1983 when we were friends at Rhodes College and I am still truly saddened by the news. She was such a vivacious and sweet person.
