Kimberly Watson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home - Northside on Dec. 16, 2024.
Kimberly K. Watson, 57, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Born on September 10, 1967 in Palatka, Florida, to Roosevelt Watson, Jr. and Lottie Watson.
Kim accepted Christ at an early age, laying a strong foundation for her faith and guiding her journey throughout life. As a child, she committed herself to God and was baptized at St. Matthews Baptist Church, where she was a member of the youth choir. Her unwavering faith and devotion to God were evident in the way she lived, always showing love, kindness, and grace to everyone around her. Friends and family will always remember Kim for her warm and welcoming personality, unwavering love, and always showing up for the people she loved.
A proud graduate of Ribault High School, Class of 1985, she proudly served as a flag girl, showcasing her school pride and enthusiasm. After high school, Kimberly pursued her interest in healthcare by studying nursing at Florida Community College of Jacksonville, where her passion for helping others shone brightly.
Kim dedicated her career to excellence and integrity, leaving a lasting impact in the workplace and the lives of her colleagues. She was a proud member of the City of Jacksonville, where she worked for 20 years. Her commitment, work ethic, and passion were evident in every task she undertook.
In her free time, Kim enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, shopping, dancing, listening to music, and creating cherished memories with her nieces and nephews. Her love for her family was boundless, and her presence brought joy and light to every gathering.
Kim is survived by her mother, Lottie Watson; father, Roosevelt Watson, Jr.; sister, Felecia Ceasar (Lorenza); brother, Roosevelt Watson, III (Shawana); nieces, Kenyana Jenkins (Kwame) and TeQuiero Mills; nephew, Roosevelt Watson, IV; great-nephew and nieces, Paeton, Kelsey, Kayley, Arabella. She is also survived by aunts, Ajai (Joseph), Phylistine Watson-Gilyard, and Bernice Johnson; uncles, Porter Johnson (Evangelina), Willie Jones (Yvette), George Latson (Beverly), William Watson, Sr. (Christine) and Charles Woodward, Sr. (Gussie); and a host of cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Roosevelt, Sr. and Elise Watson, Agnes Vickers, and Willie Robinson; uncle, Earnest Watson, Sr.; and aunt, Carolyn Murray. Kim cherished time with family and had a knack for making people smile even in tough times.
Kim's life reminds us of the power of selflessness and the importance of living with intention. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the lives she changed, love she gave, and memories we hold dear. She will forever be missed but never forgotten.

I worked with Kim at the Duval County Courthouse. I can still hear her say, "hello Darlene" to me like she did all the time. She will be missed. Big hug to all.
