King Edward Manning, affectionately known as "Grandgy" to his grandchildren, peacefully passed away on July 10, 2024 at home, at the age of 67. He was born on August 22, 1956, in North Carolina, and resided in Hinesville, GA.
King began his career by joining the US Army as a Food Service Specialist on July 16, 1976. He dedicated 20 years of his life to serving his country before retiring. Following his retirement, King became the proud owner operator of Tall Pine Trucking, where he excelled for many years.
Cooking was King's true passion, and he took great joy in preparing delicious meals for his loved ones. He cherished the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories and nurturing close relationships.
On July 2, 1977, King married the love of his life, Antoinette Manning, in Dillon, South Carolina. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love and support.
King was a loving father to his sons Larry Maurice Manning and Kenneth Manning (deceased) daughter Natalie Manning. He also adored his grandchildren: Travon Manning, Talisha Manning Daise, Tahjaeah Vail, Larry Manning Jr., Ladaisha Manning, Paris Manning, Antoniyah Williams, Kennedi Manning, Trayshawn Dudley, Kenneth Dudley, and Breanna Dudley. In addition to his family, King is survived by his brother Gilbert Manning, sisters Ida (Gregory) Major, Margaret Ann Sansbury and Mary Sutton as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ella Mae Manning and Howard Manning, wife Antoinette Manning, Son Kenneth Manning, brother Lawrence R. Manning, Sister Lida Gardner, and brothers Johnny Lee Manning and Robert Manning
Those who knew King will remember him for his generous and compassionate nature. He always went out of his way to ensure that nobody went without. Throughout his life, King demonstrated a deep commitment to his community and touched the lives of many.
King received his education through the Robeson County School System, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and growth.
His loved ones and friends will gather to celebrate King Edward Manning's life and legacy. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, love for his family, and his unwavering dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. May he rest in eternal peace.
