Dea. Benjamin "BJ" Lloyd Sr.

Dea. Benjamin "BJ" Lloyd Sr., 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2026.
He was a devoted husband, father and stepfather, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was devoted to his siblings and his church family. He was a man of God, always reading his Bible. One of the chapters that he loved was the Book of Psalms.
Dea. Benjamin Lloyd Sr., also known as "BJ", was born on May 21, 1951, in Midway, Ga., to the late Mr. Harry Lloyd Sr. and the late Mrs. Carrie Lloyd. He was the third of six children born to this union.
Dea. Lloyd received his education through the Liberty County School System and he graduated in 1970 from the Old Liberty High School.
He was a devoted worker with CSX Railroad for 38 years after retiring at the age of 60. After his retirement, he started working for Dorchester Funeral Home in 2018.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. Harry Lloyd Sr. and Mrs. Carrie Lloyd.
Dea. Lloyd leaves to mourn: his wife, Mrs. Barbara Miller-Lloyd; his children, Nichole Graham, Benjamin Lloyd Jr.; his stepchildren, Erica Miller, Amber Miller and Byron Miller; his brothers, Harry Lloyd and Nelson Lloyd from Midway; his sisters, Bernice Kindley, Sara Lloyd, Carylon Rodriquez, Laura Smith of Midway, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grands.
A public viewing will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Dorchester Funeral Home from 2–5 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Wilderness Baptist Church at 2 p.m.
