Kirk Lawrence Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Pflugerville on Dec. 31, 2025.
Kirk Allen Lawrence was born on January 17, 1946, in Columbus, Mississippi and passed away at his home in Round Rock, Texas with his wife and daughter by his side.
Kirk attended McCallum High School graduating with many basketball honors including named to the All-American Team. He attended The University of Texas and played basketball until he was drafted into the U.S. Army and ultimately selected for the U.S. Special Forces, Green Beret 12 Member Team. He trained at Ft. Bragg and served in Vietnam where he received many awards and honors including a letter of accommodation from the Prime Minister of Thailand.
Kirk married the love of his life Sandra Barta on April 18,1970. They enjoyed 55 years together, 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren, and many other bonus family members along the way.
One of his greatest accomplishments was being a good daddy. He loved Sherri and Stacy and taught them to hunt, dance, do makeup and how to be good honest caring citizens. He loved watching them accomplish their goals and was always there for them. He always told folks that he attended 6,776 dance recitals and football half time performances. Then the grandkids came along and he was so happy to watch Sydney dance, Lane and Luke in the band and Shawn play baseball.
He was very active in his community, including AquaFest, Fiesta, Balcones Little League, school PTA and Dell Children's Organization. He was honored to serve in many capacities over the years. He umpired in the Little League super regionals and then was a key person to help write the Little League Rule Book. He received many honors by city, state and local officials for all of his volunteer work. He served with Austin Aqua Festival producing the Night Lighted Water Parade and Fireworks Show.
He loved hunting and was a master hunter and enjoyed teaching and watching others become successful hunters. He also enjoyed driveway beverages and visits with friends, playing jungle rules volleyball in the back yard. His newest love was tractor shows and watching the grandkids drive the tractors in the parade.
Kirk is survived by his wife Sandra B. Lawrence, daughter Sherri Lawrence Stone, granddaughter, Sydney Stone and fiancé Noah Ruen, grandsons Shawn Stone, Lane Danielson, Luke Danielson, sister Nancy Schiffer and husband Spencer, many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his daughter Stacy Kaye Danielson, parents Norman and Celia Lawrence, brother Roy Lawrence and sister Linda Lawrence.
Note from Kirk: Everybody loves a nut, everybody loves a weirdo, my brain is in a rut, nut, everybody loves a nut! Hookem'
