Kody Jay Scarlett, age 49, of Madisonville, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 10, 2025. Born in Bartlett, Nebraska, Kody was raised on a dairy farm where he learned the value of hard work and determination. He later moved to Tennessee becoming a dedicated member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and an enthusiastic member of the choir. Kody was a lifelong trucker; however, his most prized role was that of a Christian father to his precious son. Kody loved studying scripture and sharing God's Word with those around him. He was a gentle giant in life who is now standing tall in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Kody was preceded in death by his grandparents, William R. and Bessie I. Scarlett, Dale A., and Mary Jane Breyer. He is survived by son, Kaden Scarlett and his mother, Shannon Scarlett, of Madisonville; parents, William "Mick" and Kathy Diane Scarlett; sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and Martin Wid, all of Bartlett, NE; brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Jen Scarlett, of Kearney, NE; niece and nephew, Samantha Scarlett, Trevor Scarlett; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Brenda and Freddie McDaniel; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kristi and Tony Martin, all of Madisonville. Funeral 4:00 P.M. Sunday, Bethlehem Baptist Church. Rev. Zad Tomberlin will officiate. The interment will follow the service in Piney Grove Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 P.M. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
