Ronnie E. Hicks

Ronnie E. Hicks, age 80, of Coker Creek, passed away 7:50 A.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2025 at home. Member of Calvary Baptist Church. Veteran of the Vietnam War, Sergeant with the 1st Calvary Infantry Division. Member and past commander of D.A.V. He was raised in the Springtown community of Polk County. Attended Syvilla School and Polk County High School. He spent many years as an over the road truck driver. Preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Ethel Hicks, aunt and uncle, Lela and Chelcie Bates. Survivors, wife and best friend of 55 years, Aselee Hicks, son, Steve Hicks, grandson, Dustin Hicks, great-granddaughter, Riley Hicks, half-sister, Linda Rymer, special niece, Charlene Waters, niece, Shelia (Tony) Belcher, Kathleen (Alford) Cain, special great-niece, Shania (Hunter) Debety, several other nieces and great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral 7:00 P.M. Friday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Hunter Debety officiating. Interment 11:00 A.M. Saturday, Coker Creek Cemetery, Rev. Larry Walker officiating. Military honors provided by V.F.W. Goldstar Post 5156, American Legion Post 106 and the United States Army. Family will receive friends 5-7:00 P.M. Friday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Tellico Plains.
