John Pearson

John (Johnny) Pearson, age 88, of Knoxville, formerly of Tellico Plains, passed away peacefully11:20 A.M. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Parkwest Medical Center. Johnny was born and raised in Tellico Plains to the late Luke & Bertha Nix Pearson. Family was very important to him as he lived with and took care of his mother until her death and then lived with his sister, Betty, until her death in 2020. He loved watching old westerns, the Andy Griffith show and was an avid NFL fan and his favorite team was whoever won the Super Bowl. Besides being devoted to his family, he was a hard worker, giving it his all. He was the best son, brother, uncle and friend anyone could ask for.
Survivors, sister, Jane Cheves, Nephew and spouse, Kevin & Beth Gheen, Nieces, Sue Chambers, Linda Phillips, Joan (Pete) Garrett, Care giver, Edith Hayes. Preceded in death by twin brother, Bobby, sisters, Betty Gheen & Wanda Frye, niece, Judy Frye, nephew, Don Frye, brother-in-law, Gilbert Cheves.
We would like to say "Thank You" to the palliative care CCU staff at Parkwest Medical Center for your excellent & compassionate care of Johnny. Words cannot express our gratitude & gratefulness to Johnny's caregiver and his buddy, Edith Hayes, for the years of excellent care & devotion.
