Stella Elizabeth Hester Pearson, 77, of Norman Park, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Midway Free Will Baptist Church, with Reverend Randy Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends starting at 5:30 PM at the church.
Born on November 23, 1948, in Cairo, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Henry Hester, Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Brockett Hester Dollar. Mrs. Pearson worked as a dispatcher and an escort driver with Yearty Mobile Homes and with Home Health at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. She was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and loved watching NASCAR, especially cheering on her favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Kyle Busch. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, and spending time with her family, whom she cherished deeply. Mrs. Pearson was very active in her church, Midway Freewill Baptist, where her faith and service were an important part of her life.
Mrs. Pearson is survived by her husband, James O. Pearson of Norman Park; daughters, Susannah Hughes-Mansfield (Robyn) of Thomasville, Laurie Gay of Moultrie; son, Grant McCormick (Jamie) of Savannah; step-sons, James B. Gaston of Fort Worth, TX, Bryan Pearson and, Dwayne Pearson of Sylvester; grandchildren, Kristen Strickland (Blake), Tyler Floyd (Shelby), Jeffery McCormick, Emerson McCormick, Aubrey Hall, and Gracie Gay; great-grandchildren, Teagan Floyd, Ezra Floyd, Scarlett Strickland; sisters, Cindy Hester and Alice Smith of Ludowici, GA; and special niece, Libby Eustis of Highlands, NC; and her fur babies, Boudy and Rudy.
