Konstantinos "Gus" Papadopoulos, 78, of West Haven, CT, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Rizo, Pellas, Greece, Gus carried his heritage with deep pride throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family. Gus was married to his beloved wife, Helen, for 56 wonderful years, building a life rooted in love, dedication, and unwavering support.
A hardworking and passionate entrepreneur, Gus owned and operated Pizza Pal and Triple A Pizza in New Haven, where he became a familiar and friendly face to so many in the community. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built over the years.
Gus found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved singing traditional Greek songs, hosting gatherings filled with laughter and food, watching Greek soccer games, and traveling back to Greece whenever he could. He was a proud American patriot who also held a deep and lasting love for his homeland.
Gus will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and the way he made everyone feel like family. He had a warm presence, a great sense of humor, and a natural ability to bring people together. Whether through a shared meal, a song, or a simple conversation, he left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was a devoted member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, where his faith and community were an important part of his life.
Gus is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his children, Arhonti, Adriana, and Andreas (Effie); his cherished grandchildren, Steven, Elleni, Sophia, Christina, Dino, and Evan; and his great-grandson, Deeno. He was predeceased by his grandson, Kostaki, who remained forever in his heart.
Family and friends are invited to attend the wake on Monday, March 23rd, from 4:00–7:00 P.M. at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 24th, at 10:00 A.M. at the church, followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in West Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church.
Gus will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of family, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His legacy of love, strength, and tradition will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
