Kraig Himle, an Ojai native who never met an engine he couldn’t improve, or an afternoon he couldn’t interrupt with the roar of horsepower, revved his last engine on August 6, 2025. Born on May 2, 1966, Kraig left us at the age of 59, no doubt racing ahead to make sure the garage in the great beyond meets his standards.
As the proud owner of Factory Performance in Ventura, CA, Kraig spent his life dedicated to making machines faster, louder, and better. His legacy lives on in custom builds, satisfied customers, and a workshop still lingering with the scent of gasoline, motor oil, and high-octane adventures. Those adventures came with road rash, stitches and broken bones, daredevil excitement, deep laughter and lifelong friendships.
Kraig is reunited with his parents, Ardis Berg and Buzz Himle of Ojai, CA. He is survived by his 2 sons, Kode and Kaid Himle of Ojai, CA and their mother Tully Marinis Himle of Ojai; his sister, Kari Himle of Ojai; his niece, Janessa Olson; and his nephew, Jake Victor
Though Kraig may be gone, his spirit, signature laugh, and need for speed live on. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who ever heard an engine rev just a little too loud—and smiled, knowing it was probably him.
