Kristen Marie Thompson

Kristen Marie Thompson passed away January 23, 2025, at her home in Anchorage, Alaska. Kristen was born September 19,1985 in Anchorage. She is the oldest of four children and grew up in Turnagain with her two brothers and one sister. Kristen attended Holy Rosary Academy and West High School. As a child, Kristen loved spending time with her maternal grandparents, Crist and Patricia Thompson. Kristen deeply loved her family, and Kristen's greatest happiness was watching her family flourish.
Kristen met her partner and fiancé Obe Escontrias in 2010. Together they were in the process of raising five children. She was an at-home mom after a career in food service and working on the North Slope. She assisted Obe with his landscaping and snow plowing business.
As a child, Kristen attended Girl Scouts and was the best neighborhood babysitter. She loved camping with her family and friends, shopping for her family, fishing, snow machining, water crafting, and shoes. Kristen had tremendous compassion for others and a contagious love.
Kirsten is survived by fiancé, Obe Escontrias; children: Jayden Gogert, Brayton and Braxton Escontrias; stepchildren, Kailey and Kaileb Escontrias; mother Mary Hodsdon and stepfather Jay Fountaine; siblings Joshua Fountaine (Rubi), Kevin Hodsdon and Courtny Hodsdon Gandy (Brooks) along with five aunts, and four uncles, an abundance of cousins, and five nieces and nephews.
Kristen was preceded in death by Grandparents Patricia and Crist Thompson and uncles Peter and Craig Thompson.
Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2025, at Lady of Guadalupe, 3900 Wisconsin Street, Anchorage, with funeral service to follow.
