William Lloyd Speir

William "Bill" Speir, 78, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Bill was born May 21st, 1947, in Altadena, California, to Harriet & Richard Speir. He spent his youth growing up in Provo, Utah.
He then moved to Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated from East Anchorage High School, Class of 1965. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and received his college degree in Computer Science in 1975 from BYU. Bill was always a hard-working man, pursuing multiple careers such as an IT Specialist, Public Transportation, and working on military bases.
Bill was a loving, caring man. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and grandkids. His family always came first. Some of his hobbies included motorcycles, aircrafts, and going on drives. He was known for always cracking jokes and was a big people person. He was loved by everyone who was blessed enough to meet him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sonia Speir; his two stepsons, Edward (wife Blanca) Lewandowski, and Johnny (wife Kennita) Lewandowski; his four children from his previous marriage; seven grandchildren; two brothers Brian (wife Kathleen) Speir and Larry (wife Phyllis) Malkin; and two sisters Leslie (husband Robin) Mottishaw, and Robin (husband Mike) Halverson. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Harriet and Richard Speir; stepson Stephan Lewandowski; and granddaughter Shantel Castel-Lewandowski.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Friday, December 5th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The address is: 8000 E 36th Ave., Anchorage, AK 99504.
