KENDALLVILE - Kristin J. "Kris" Hodge, 59, of Kendallville, Indiana, died on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1966, in Auburn, Indiana, to George A. and Phyllis J. (Becker) Casselman.
Kris was a 1984 graduate of DeKalb High School. She was also a graduate of Ivy Tech and had completed the Deaconess program at Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne.
She had a gift in ministry and mission work. Kris's passion was helping others come to know the Lord. She was a baptized member of Zion Lutheran Church in West Fairfield. She loved her mother and her family.
She especially enjoyed her job at Albright's Grocery Store in Corunna, where she could be found meeting and greeting customers.
Surviving are her mother, Phyllis Casselman, of Kendallville; a sister, Kim and (Michael) Krehl, of Kendallville; a brother, Kelly (Cheryl) Casselman, of Kendallville; six nieces, Kara (Cory) Mayse, Jessica (Nate) Wappes, Kayla (Jon) Teusch, Alyssa (Tim) Rohrback, Courtney (Anthony) Casselman and Lindsey (Justin) Casselman; a nephew, Jason (Kari) Krehl; four great-nieces, Bryn, Lena, Madelyn and Amelia; and five great-nephews, Brock, Bryce, Dylan Gavyn and Karter.
She was preceded in death by her father, George A. Casselman.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 0389 C.R. 12, Corunna.
Funeral services will also be on Monday, beginning at 1 p.m., at the church, with Pastor Brian Stark officiating.
Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Casselman, Kim Krehl, Jason Krehl, Kari Krehl, Jay Becker and Rosanne Stafford.
Kris requested that no flowers were to be given, instead she would like donations given to Zion Lutheran Church.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 S. State St., Kendallville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
