Columbiana - Kristy Simcox, age 73, of Columbiana, died on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Hospice House, Poland.
She was born on April 22, 1952, in Salem, daughter of the late Marquis and Odessa Cook Farmer.
Kristy was a librarian at Salem High School, Springfield High School and St. Paul Catholic School. She was also a professional storyteller, performing stories for countless different groups. Kristy was a highly involved member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church as a member of the choir, bell choir, helping in the nursery and helping the "church basement ladies." She loved being active by bicycling, kayaking and playing pickleball, she also enjoyed gardening and playing Mah Jong.
Kristy is survived by her husband, Daniel Paul Simcox, whom she married on December 21, 1975; a son, Jason Simcox of Norton; two brothers, Dennis (Georgia) Farmer of New Waterford and Randy Farmer of Leetonia; three nieces, Crystal, Joanna, Sara; a nephew, A.J. and numerous other great nieces, great nephews and family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana and on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia.
Services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
Burial will take place at Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana.
In lieu of flowers feel free to donate a children's book or make a monetary donation to your local library in memory of Kristy.
