Kristy Wesson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 6, 2025.
Kristy Wesson, born on June 18, 1974, in Torrance, CA, left our world on March 3, 2025. Known to friends and family as Kris, she was the epitome of compassion, humor, love, selflessness, and intelligence. She was the woman who could make you double over in laughter, even on your worst day, with her uncanny ability to find witty humor in every situation. However, Kristy didn't just stop at showcasing her exemplary personal qualities; she also applied them in the nonprofit world. Throughout her career, she was dedicated to helping those who, in her words, "weren't as lucky as we all were."
Kristy's village was her world and meant everything to her. Surviving her are: Matt Wesson, her husband famous for Kristy's coverage of his cabinet organizing skills; her three sons Jake, Drew, and Zach Wesson, whose text messages frequented Kristy's Instagram page coupled with a witty caption; her loving parents Dave DeRhodes and Ricki DeRhodes; and siblings and in-laws Doug DeRhodes, Arlene Wesson, Phil Wesson, Ben Wesson and Brittany Wesson. Let's not forget her two nephews, Max and George Wesson, who were the perfect audience for her comedic timing. Kristy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Marian Klein, Richard Klein and Esther Mercer.
A celebration of Kristy's life will be held at Temple Israel–Minneapolis, 2323 Fremont Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55405, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2:00 pm CST. We invite you to join us. It will also be available on Zoom at www.hodroffs.com/KristyWesson (link is found below). Remember, Kristy would want you to bring your best joke, your warmest memories, and, of course, your shared love of ice cubes and fruity drinks–the sweeter, the better.
In honor of Kristy, please feel welcome to visit her memorial page (hodroffepsteinmemorialchapels.com/obituaries/kristy-wesson). Share your memories of her, post photos that capture her spirit, add quotes from her favorite 80's movies and contribute her favorite pop culture references–all to keep the laughter going. After all, that's what Kristy would have wanted.
- Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club
