Krystyn Aaberg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rouse Mortuary Service & Crematory on Nov. 29, 2025.
Krystyn Marie Aaberg, a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully of natural causes while surrounded by loved ones on November 4, 2025, at the age of 73, in Greenville, NC. Born on November 14, 1951, in Brookings, SD, to David Aaberg and Bette Christofferson, Krystyn grew up in a loving family that later included her stepmother, Patricia Cook. Although she was predeceased by her father, mother, stepmother, husband Ronald Morrow, and dear son Sean Aaberg, her spirit is carried on by her family and friends.
Krystyn's early years were spent in the halls of North Platte High School in Nebraska, where she cultivated a passion for service that would shape her entire life. This passion led her to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she earned her Bachelor's of Nursing, a degree that testified to her dedication to caring for others.
Krystyn's professional journey was marked by her tenure as a cherished nanny to the Surkin family, where she left an indelible mark on their lives with her warmth and nurturing spirit. Her desire to help others extended well beyond her professional duties; she was known for her remarkable ability to listen and provide comfort, earning her the love and respect of those who knew her.
Among her many interests, Krystyn found joy in simple pleasures like savoring her favorite ice cream and spending time conversing with her grandchildren, Allison and Emmett Aaberg, who brought immense joy to her later years. She was a source of wisdom and love for her son, Shelby Aaberg, and daughter-in-law, Laura Aaberg, who will continue to honor her legacy through their own lives. Krystyn is also survived by her two younger brothers: John Aaberg of Chappell, Nebraska, and Dr. Wayne Aaberg of Gulfport, MS.
Though she has departed from this earth, the memory of Krystyn Marie Aaberg will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of love, service, and compassion will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say goodbye to this exceptional woman, we celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
