Kurt Sandstrom Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery on Sep. 19, 2024.
Kurt Michael Sandstrom was born in W. Jordan, UT on Oct 18th, 1993. He was the 4th son of Craig & Kari Sandstrom. Kurt was a happy little guy right from the beginning – and that personality continued on into adulthood. Everyone felt comfortable being around Kurt. He had a calming influence, and rarely became angry. He was a perfectionist for things that were really important to him, and completely disorganized for everything else! He was easy to laugh with, and had a clever sense of humor.
Kurt had four brothers – Peter (who proceeded him in death), Erik, Karl and younger brother Shaun. People would call them"Five peas in a pod" because they looked so much alike. They loved playing together – making up games, playing in the snow, and building with Legos for hours. There was always someone to do something with. (And of course there was some teasing or fighting thrown in on occasion for good measure. )
Kurt made friends easily wherever we moved to. He was an honor student, and picked up on facts quickly. He had a photographic memory, and said it was both a blessing and a curse. He received a Bachelors Degree in Cybersecurity from U of A. He loved anything to do with computers. He was very techy and loved looking into cyber mysteries/challenges. He inherited a talent for drawing which became very apparent in high school. He was invited to be in an art show, and continued to draw for fun, for the rest of his life. His favorite subject to draw for the last three years was Maisy – Shaun's big goldendoodle. His drawings of her would have people in stitches.
Unfortunately, Kurt had to deal with genetic depression (as many people do), and tried so hard to keep himself upright over the years. His self confidence and energy levels decreased significantly in the past year. He reached a point where he just couldn't do it any more.
We're sure his paternal grandparents – Jim and Arlene Sandstrom, and his older brother Peter were surprised when he showed up so early on the other side. We know he is being well taken care of. We will continue to love Kurt with all our hearts for eternity. This earth life is but a moment in our existence.
