Kurtis "Jake" L. Jacobs Sr., 66, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 66.
Jake was born on September 3, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was united in marriage to Theresa Whyde in 1995, and they shared a loving marriage of 22 years until her passing in 2017.
Jake was known for his kind heart, devotion to family, sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone in need. Throughout his life, he enjoyed concerts, golf, watching his Colts and Pacers, and spending time with his family. Jake was a mechanic for multiple companies throughout his life, most recently with Citizens Energy Group.
He is survived by his sons Kurtis (Sandy) Jacobs, Dale (Kristen) Jacobs, Stepsons Archie, Jay, and Richard Ward, Grandchildren Angel and Zavier Jacobs (Kurtis and Sandy), Jackson and Rosalee Jacobs (Dale and Kristen), and was blessed with many more beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren through Archie, Jay, Richard and Steven Ward, his brother Kennan (Cathy) Jacobs, Sister Lisa (Greg) Ruddell, as well as many other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Theresa Jacobs, Parents Cecil and Mary Jacobs, Brothers Kevin and Keith Jacobs, and Stepson Steven Ward.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 1:00PM to 3:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, located at 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.
The entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society, in Jake’s memory.
