Kyle Christensen Obituary

Kyle Dee Christensen

1964 ~ 2023

Our beloved Papa, Ky-Ky, Husband, Dad, Brother, and Son, Kyle Dee Christensen passed away on September 25th after an intense frustrating battle with Parkinson's disease. Unfortunately, the suffering that Kyle experienced was too great for his spirit to endure.

Kyle was born in Mount Pleasant, Utah on January 30th 1964, the fourth of five children. He grew up surrounded by nature which is something that stuck with him throughout every chapter of his life. From a young age, Kyle had a great ability to interact with animals of all kinds, having had at one point in his life every possible animal as a pet you could think of. One of his greatest loves in life was running field trials with his many champion bird dogs. Growing up as a child he helped grow garden after garden with his dad and siblings eventually becoming somewhat of an expert gardener himself. Kyle spent many hours of his life dedicated to his hobby of pigeons, sharing his passion for the sport with hundreds of fellows in and around the nation and world with the Utah Pigeon Club, National Pigeon Club, and several international club events.

As he grew older he took a great interest in sports, specifically basketball, joining several basketball teams over the years with many of these teams making it to league championships. An accomplished land developer and real estate agent Kyle's strength of character and willingness to always do the right thing brought him great respect and success in the real estate business with many clients becoming lifelong friends.

Kyle was a man of unlimited talents, such as carpentry, his incredible artistic talents, the power of the spoken and written word, and an ability to connect to others with great ease. He never had anything ill to say of others as others had nothing ill to say of him.

Kyle was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints having served in many callings and dearly loving those that he served.

Preceded in death by his father Donald R. Christensen, his brother Hal Christensen. His memories and strength will live on through his beloved and adored wife Brenda, his sons Dominik Christensen, Ty Little (Chrystal), Dain Little and his daughter Lindsey Perez-Alvarez (Elias), his mother Jackie Christensen Burke, his brother Jim Christensen (Holly), Colleen Norton (Grant), his brother Dale Christensen as well as numerous adoring grandchildren, nieces and nephews and the thousands of people who encountered Kyle throughout his life.

A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home on October 1st, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (4760 S. State Street, Murray Utah) with funeral services being held the following day October 2nd, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Park Ward at 10:00 am to 11:00 am (495 E. 5600 S., Murray, Utah).

My thoughts & condolences go out to all of Kyle's family. I have known Kyle, for better part of our real estate careers. We always shared stories of bird hunting & fishing. He used to say to me we haven't seen you... you had a good month and must be fishing! Or you're here in the office, you must need money to go fishing! I was saddened to hear he had passed. R.I.P my friend. You'll be missed.

I´m so sorry to hear about Kyle. Parkinson´s disease has not been kind to a number of people in the Valley Park 2nd Ward. Though I never go to meet his wife and children, Jackie and Don were major influences in my life. We always referred to their home on canal road as the Garden of Eden while the rest of us lived in the lone and dreary world. I´m glad Kyle was able to get some of that talent. I´m so glad we have the gospel in our hearts because I can´t imagine how much more difficult it would be if we didn´t!

This breaks my heart, my condolences go out to the family. I worked with Kyle at Prudential Real Estate, and he always brought me eggs along with an abundance of freshly grown produce that we would make salsa with at work in Marketing. I would like the family to know that Kyle was my inspiration and strength to successfully quit smoking back on May 1, 2010. His beautiful memories will always live on in my mind, as I know they will with all of you. God Bless.

My condolences to Brenda and the family! I have been good friends with Kyle for about 50 years. He was my pigeon buddy, traveling companion for pigeon shows, and greatest sounding board. We didn't always agree and had some good arguments, but we always respected each other. He has been a huge part of my life and I will miss him every day of the rest of my life. Rest in peace my friend! I love you dearly!

I am so sorry to hear of this and sending thoughts/ wishes of love and strength to his family. Kyle was a great friend to my husband, for so many years. Kyle helped me to sell my condominium in UT. He was a wonderful person and I very much agree with the sentiment- in the obituary- about his connecting to others with great ease. We do not live in the same state any longer, but we will definitely miss him. Sending love to the many people that are grieving him.
