Kyle Pankey, 74, of Moulton, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at his home. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 06, 2025 at Moulton Church of Christ. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Moulton Church of Christ with Bill Becker, Greg Dutton, and Ken Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on March 29, 1950 to the late Herbert and Ruth Hambey Pankey, Kyle worked for Greg's Ambulance for several years after retiring from Champion Paper. He also served as County Commissioner for Lawrence County and was a volunteer fireman for many years. Kyle was very instrumental in helping to develop the Volunteer Fire Department programs throughout the state. He will always be remembered as a loving and caring gentleman with a servant's heart who cared for his family, church, community, and anyone in need.

Survivors include his wife of five years, Carol Smith Pankey; daughter, Heather (Jason) Adair; step-mother, Dorothy Pankey; granddaughter, Genney (Jessie) Borden; sisters, Susan (David) Denham, and Marquita (Troy) Poss; brother, Jason (Crystal) Pankey; and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Kyle was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Deborah Pankey; son, Chris Pankey; brothers, Durwood Pankey, and Eldridge Pankey; sister, Earlene Taylor; and granddaughter, Mary-Frances Adair.

Pallbearers will be Randy Moultrie, Steve McLemore, Keith Gilley, Greg Randolph, Chris Henderson, Bobby Burch, Max Sanders, and Keith Orr. Honorary pallbearers are David and Evelyn Bibb, Linda Knight, and Larry and Jan Justice.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff of Aveanna Hospice, New Antioch Church of Christ and Moulton Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aveanna Hospice or New Antioch Church of Christ.
