L B Bailey, a beloved figure known for his infectious humor and joyful spirit, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the remarkable age of 97. Born on April 26, 1928, in Garland, Texas, L B's life was a tapestry woven with rich experiences, laughter, and an enduring passion for music and craftsmanship.
Having attended Garland High School, L B embarked on a fulfilling career as a machinist at Cooks Machinery, where his skill and dedication shone brightly. Colleagues and friends fondly remember him not only for his remarkable craftsmanship but also for his witty jokes and warm-hearted personality that brought smiles to all those around him. L B had a way of turning the most mundane moments into joyful memories, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of many.
Beyond his professional life, L B was a man of diverse interests and talents. He found immense joy in playing dominos and strumming his guitar, harmonizing with the soulful melodies of his band, The Blues Blasters, where he thrived as a vocalist. Music was not only a hobby for L B but a vital part of his identity, a way to connect with others and express the joy he carried within.
Throughout his life, L B formed countless friendships that enriched his journey. His light-heartedness and generous spirit created bonds that will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. He was a friend who would always lend an ear, share a laugh, and lift the spirits of those around him.
A viewing will be held on December 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. A funeral service to celebrate his extraordinary life will follow on December 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at the same location.
L B Bailey leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and music that will echo in the hearts of many. As we gather to honor his memory, we remember a man who filled our lives with joy and whose spirit will forever remain in the rhythm of our hearts.
