On Saturday November 22, 2025 God sent an angel to retrieve another one of his children. Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend LaBrenda Perry Bennett was born on April 20, 1957 in Harlem, NY, to Curtis Smith and Zola Mae Perry. She grew up surrounded by love and a deep sense of faith and community.
LaBrenda was a proud and loving mother to her children Ta-Sheen and Curtis Bennett from her first husband William Bennett (deceased).
Later in life, LaBrenda found a loving partner in Floyd Walker, with whom she shared nearly 20 years until his passing.
LaBrenda was a beloved sister and enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether it was going on cruises or simply taking her yearly visits to New York. She had a passion for money; inspiring those around her to always work hard and save your money.
She was dedicated to serving others, whether through her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, or in helping family and friends.
LaBrenda was deeply committed to her faith and her family. She will be remembered for her remarkable work ethic, always giving her best and uplifting others through her example of Her unwavering kindness, touched the lives of everyone she met. Her energy and passion for life will never be forgotten. Her legacy of love, compassion, and truth will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish loving memories two children: Ta-Sheen and Curtis Bennett, one daughter-in-law: Charlean Bennett, ten grandchildren: Charisma, Ta-Sheen Jr (T-Bone), Rayshawn, Ashanti, Ilyas, Samora and Sincere Bennett, Onys, Selem and Olajuwon, three great-grandchildren: Raelynn, Greyson and Amazi and her siblings, Curtisteen and Bernice Goodman, Carrie Lord, Helen Stackhouse, Malisa Baldwin, Loretha Anderson, Erica Gray, Dionne, Glossary, Briana, Dominique, Roscoe, William Issac and Allen Smith (deceased).
She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and many cousins.
We shall forever remember LaBrenda's kind and generous soul.
Celebration of Life Service for LaBrenda Perry Bennett will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at J. L Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment Danville Virginia.
The family and relatives is asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. on the day of the service.
