Lagran Swilley Holton
March 16, 1940 – September 3, 2025

Lagran Swilley Holton, 85, of Hamilton County, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at Advent Christian Village.

Born and raised in Hamilton County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Swilley and Susie Swilley, and one of seven siblings. She married John Holland Holton on March 16, 1956.

Lagran worked for over 20 years at Jasper Textile before retiring. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially fishing and watching sunsets at Horseshoe Beach. Her love for the water, whether river or sea, was only matched by the deep love she had for her family.

She is survived by her children: Stanton (Belinda), Mike (Dana), Grant (the late Dorthy), and Renea (Chuck); her grandchildren: Kasey (Doug), Heather (Jason), Derek (Hannah), Lee (Chloe), Chaise (Madeline), Michael (Kelli), and Jeremy; her brothers, Marvin Swilley and Eldon Swilley; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Susie Swilley, her husband, John Holland Holton, her daughter-in-law Dorthy Holton, and several beloved siblings.

A funeral service will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Jennings, FL, at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

A private family visitation will be held prior to the service.
