Lajuana Giles Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hanner Funeral Service on Mar. 31, 2026.
Lajuana Ann Stipp Giles, age 88, of Texarkana, Texas, went to her reward Sunday, March 29, 2026, from a Texarkana, Texas nursing home. Lajuana was born April 21, 1937, in Texarkana, Texas to Marcellus Edwin Stipp and Geneva Durham Stipp. She was honored that she went to Liberty School, graduated from Texas High and remained close to her classmates all of her life.

Lajuana attended East Texas State and was a graduate of North Texas University. Lajuana taught elementary students for 30 years: in McLeod School, Liberty-Eylau Elementary, at Miller Grade School and Atlanta Primary in Atlanta, Texas. Lajuana joined the Methodist church when she married Bobby Allday and was a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church at the time of her death.

Talented and creative, many of Lajuana's loved ones have tokens of her talents. Lajuana always had a project going: needle arts, painting or some craft or green thumb project. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her students and her high school classmates. She was a wonderful host and enjoyed entertaining guests and hosting family gatherings, parties and celebrations.

Lajuana is remembered for being Miss Texarkana and participated in the Miss Texas pageant. She enjoyed the opportunities it afforded her to travel and participate in radio remotes and publicity events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Giles; daughter, Katherine Stubbs; father, Marcellus Stipp, and mother and stepfather, Geneva and Max Moore.

She is survived by her son, Rob Allday and wife Cassandra of Atlanta, Texas; sister-in-law Sally Allday of Atlanta, Texas; son-in-law, Rick Stubbs of Atlanta, Texas; grandchildren, Jody Stubbs and wife Terri of Texarkana, Texas, Drew Stubbs and wife Brooke of Austin, Texas, Rebecca Allday of Atlanta, Texas, Clint Stubbs and wife Amy of Austin, Texas, Rachel Aguillon and husband Rick of Fort Worth, Texas; 14 great-grandchildren; classmates Catherine Olivet Duncan, Jane Craver Kennon, Sally McClure Patton, friends Jan and Howard Carney, special friend Sandy McIntyre, cousins, family friends and former students.

Funeral services will be 11 am, Friday, April 3, 2026, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Charles Hale officiating.
