Lakeria Shavon Johnson, affectionally known as "Red" was born on January 25, 1981 to George and Sherann Johnson in
Pahokee, Florida. Lakeria received her primary education in the Palm Beach County School System before continuing her secondary studies in Toronto, Canada. In 1999, Lakeria ecstatically graduated from West Hill Collegiate High School, celebrating a significant achievement in her personal growth.
Following her graduation, Lakeria returned to South Florida, where she devoted herself to a meaningful career at JFK Medical Center. In her role as a Medical Clerk, she played a vital part in supporting the care of patients by attentively managing their health records. Her work involved carefully maintaining and organizing important medical information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, and assisting in the smooth transition of patients through their care journey. Lakeria approached her responsibilities with unwavering dedication and a deep sense of compassion, always striving to serve others with kindness and professionalism.
Lakeria possessed a gentle strength and a radiant warmth that touched everyone she met. Her kindness and quiet determination endeared her to family, friends and colleagues alike. Though she faced health challenges for much of her life, Lakeria was a true fighter, demonstrating remarkable resilience and courage in the face of adversity. She was a devoted and loving mother to her children, Lenorris D. Johnson and Zariyah S. Hamp, cherishing every moment spent nurturing and guiding the with patience and unconditional love. Lakeria had a deep love for her family and a passion for helping others, which was evident in the care and attention she gave in her work. Born and raised in the Pentecostal faith, Lakeria's spiritual journey was cornerstone of her life. After returning to South Florida, she found a spiritual home at the Church in the Son, where she was a devoted member. Her faith guided her through life's challenges and inspired her to live with grace and compassion. Lakeria's legacy is one of love, dedication, and unwavering faith.
Lakeria was preceded in death by her father George Johnson, Sr., her paternal grandparents, Willie and Ella Mae Johnson, Willie and Mary Thomas, her maternal grandparents, Norris and Mary Shaw, Frank and Catherine Calhoun, Rosie Towns, her uncles Herschel Johnson, John A. Russ, Bobby McAllister, her aunt, Gladys McBride, and her cousin Petra Elaine Shaw.
