On January 12, 1992, in Paterson, NJ, the world became brighter with the arrival of Lakesha Yoland Jackson. From birth, Lakesha loved people, and they loved her. Her natural affinity for laughter drew people to her, and that bond never wavered- just ask Ranesha, her cousins, and her many friends.
Lakesha was always on the move. She played softball, participated in karate, and loved beauty- hair, nails, and lip gloss. She also loved bags. Lakesha never saw a bag she shouldn't purchase. She was, in kind terms, a "bag lady.
In high school, Lakesha relocated to Burlington Township, New Jersey. It was the reunion she and "Auntie Heather" had been waiting for, and they loved every minute - except for that one time when she went to ShopRite, but we won't talk about that! Lakesha graduated from Burlington Township High School and eventually moved to High Point, North Carolina, where she again endeared herself to a new group of people. Neighbors, coworkers, and supervisors loved her.
On August 22, 2025, Lakesha's journey came to an end, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her memory be as vibrant and enduring as the smiles she shared and the laughter, she brought out of everyone she knew.
"Cheeks" is joyfully reunited with her brother, Conrad "Jr." Jackson, her cherished grandparents Royton Wedderburn, Beverly Thompson-Fearon, and her cousin, Kemar Smith who all preceded her in death.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, treasured by her mother; Sherine, father; Conrad Jackson, bonus mom; Kimberly Jackson, sisters; Raynesha Leonard, and lyanna Brown, brother; Glenn Jackson, grandparents; Beryl and Balfoe Jackson, her goddaughter; Zaniya Boyce, 1 niece, 1 nephew, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
