LaMar Anderson passed away September 25, 2025 at his home in Orem. He was born July 22, 1939 in Logan, Utah to Grant Sylvester Anderson and Lila Beth Watson. He earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. Professionally, he worked as a draftsman and designed printed circuit boards. He designed the control panel for a US Spacecraft. He also taught drafting at Moorpark College in Moorpark, California.
He married Lois Joanne Edmunds in 1958 in the Los Angeles Temple, and together they had twelve children. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was especially proud of the mission he served with his wife in Portland, Oregon.
LaMar was such a good man. He was always kind and willing to help...he was a great neighbor! He enjoyed woodcarving. He could also build and repair anything. He had a beautiful tenor voice and loved singing duets with his wife. He appreciated really good music and loved watching all sports on TV. He refereed high school sports. He could sleep anywhere, sometimes in a wheelbarrow or even the sidewalk.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne; his children, Greg (Cindy) Anderson, Leonard (Lale) Anderson, Luanne (Mark) Johnson, Pam (Craig) Fischer, Reed (Diamir) Anderson, Melanie (Steve) Burton, Janine Anderson, Vincent (Mayel) Anderson, Wayne (Amanda) Anderson, Marlo (Neil) Moncur and Drew (Jenny) Anderson. Forty-eight grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Terry Dale Anderson.
There will be a viewing, Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Heatheridge Stake Center, 450 E 2000 N, Orem, Utah. The Funeral Service will be held, October, 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at the same chapel with an additional viewing held prior to the funeral at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery directly after the funeral service.
