LaMar Walter Wanberg, age 70, passed away peacefully at home in West Jordan, Utah, on June 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 22, 1955, in Murray, Utah, to Kenneth and Verla Wanberg.

On June 15, 1977, LaMar married his beloved wife, Annette, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, and family. They recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

LaMar is survived by his devoted wife, Annette; his children Tina (Brian) Hazlett, Curtis (Carly) Wanberg, and Kelsie (Donald) McNeill; and his cherished grandchildren Hannah, Zoe, Luke, Kami, Eli, and Kenneth; his sisters Linda (Bruce) Marchant, Lorna (Marty) DeJong, Sharlene (Dave) Paul, and Penny (Howard) Uriarte.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Verla Wanberg; his parents-in-law, Ronald and VaLoy Stowe; his nephew, Jason DeJong; and his brother-in-law, Rodney Stowe.

LaMar dedicated the majority of his career to Custodial Services for the Jordan School District, ultimately serving as Director of Custodial Services. He found great joy in being around students and faculty while elevating the world around him. He was known as a trusted mentor, advocate, and friend.

Outside of work, LaMar had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed golfing, motorcycle riding, watching airplanes, and spending time on the lake. His passion for the lake was so profound that he affectionately named his favorite beach destination “LaMar’s Tree" because of a single, large, beautiful tree that would mark the meeting place for beach days.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 1st, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a luncheon. A viewing will be held on Monday, June 30th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the funeral service. All services will be held at the Stake Center located at 1899 West 7600 South, West Jordan, UT 84084. Interment to follow services at Midvale City Cemetery.

LaMar’s kindness, dedication, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who know him.
