Lamarris Deon Thacker Sr.

Lamarris Deon Thacker, Sr., age 46, a resident of Pontiac, Michigan and formerly of Mount Clemens, MI passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. This comes as a shock to his family and friends. He still had so much life ahead of him, taken far too soon. He was born on July 5, 1978, in Mt. Clemens to Bret Thacker and Chrystal (Neal) Holmes. On March 14, 2023, he was united in marriage to Lisa Marie Purdy.
Upon finishing his education at Mt. Clemens High School, Lamarris later attended Northwestern Tech earning several certifications in skilled trades. He began a career in healthcare at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in 2007 in transport, advancing to Emergency Room Technologist, and later advanced to becoming a Behavioral Technologist until 2022. More recently he was involved with Amazon coordinating logistics. Lamarris, was a lifelong Detroit Lions Fan, looked forward to football season every year. He enjoyed working on Classic cars, becoming a classic car enthusiast, and belonging to the Hagerty Car Club along with his bonus-dad Dan. He possessed a firm Christian faith and was a member of Worship & Word Family Center in Southfield, MI, under the leadership of Pastor Douglas Nabor Jr. Lamarris enjoyed working with his father remodeling properties and was proud to establish Thacker Remodeling and Renovations, LLC in 2024. Those of you who knew Lamarris the best, know that Lamarris was quite proud of his Jordan shoe collection and getting his haircut every Friday at "City Cuts."
His legacy lives on in the hearts of his wife: Lisa Marie Thacker; children: Zae'na Elle Thacker, Lamarris Deon Thacker II and Kaia Rayne Thacker; bonus children: Kayden James Purdy and Nathaniel Roberts III; mother: Chrystal (Daniel) Holmes, father: Bret (Leslie) Thacker; siblings: Joslyn (Sean) Dilbert-Cann, Bret (Erica) Thacker, Jr., and Alexia (Lauren Cruz) Thacker. He is also survived by bonus siblings: Cameron Dilbert, James Nelson, Jr., Denardo Holmes, Ashton Holmes, Dominique Holmes; mother-in-law: Janice Purdy, brother-in-law's: Lloyd (Ricki) Purdy and Mark (Ame) Purdy and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, God brothers and sisters, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mt. Clemens on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 3:30p.m. until 8:00p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:30a.m. (family hour 11:00a.m.) at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, 87 Robertson, Mt.
