Lamont Hamilton Cornett

Mr. Lamont Hamilton Cornett, age 62, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, along with his wife, Rhonda Delleana Cornett, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Cornett was born in Rome, Georgia on August 16, 1963, son of the late Lewis Hamilton Cornett and the late Delores McCrory Cornett. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruby Cornett. Mr. Cornett worked as a technician for the Georgia Department of Corrections. He enjoyed woodworking and woodturning as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Kaley Troup (Dakota), Kyle Cornett (Haley), and Kaden Cornett; five grandchildren; a brother, Derek Cornett (Tamara); his mother-in-law, Barbara Burrows; a sister-in-law, April Bryan (Jarratt); a nephew, Jonathan Bryan.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11am at Northside Church with Rev. Brad Prater officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 4 until 6pm.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Monday at 10:30am and include Derek Cornett, Dakota Troup, Kyle Cornett, Jarratt Bryan, Jonathan Bryan, and Jeff Chasteen.
Flowers will be accepted but memorial contributions are preferred to Floyd Felines or Cancer Navigators of Rome.
