Adam Grant Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Henderson & Sons Funeral Home - South Chapel - Rome on Feb. 2, 2026.
Adam MacElhannon Grant, age 41, of Rome, Georgia, sadly passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Born on September 11, 1984, in Rome, Georgia, Adam was the son of the late Richard Ansley Grant and Cathryn Belle Grant (Formerly MacElhannon). In addition to his parents, Adam is also preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Lanoff Grant.

Adam attended school at Rome High and graduated in 2003. Adam was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, as it was a way he expressed care, creativity, and connection with those around him. It was a talent he learned from his mother.

Adam found peace and happiness outdoors. He loved exploring in nature and some of his happiest memories were made taking his daughter on adventures, playing in creeks with Andrew, and camping with his grandparents. Above all else, his daughter, Hannah, was his proudest accomplishment and defined the very best parts of who he was.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Hannah Kate Grant; his significant other, Erica Quarles; his siblings, Richard Ansley Grant II and Jasonn Weber (Laurel); his nieces, Malena and Linnea Weber; his uncles, Skip MacElhannon (Gale Dillashaw), and Fred Grant (Tara); his aunt, Patsy Powell (Roger); and his cousins, Kyle Powell, Keri Powell, Christi Grant Tucker, Rusty Grant, Matt Adams, James Adams, Stephen Adams, and Katie Steadman.

A memorial service honoring Adam's life will be held at a later date.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, is honored to serve the family of Adam MacElhannon Grant.

Adam spent time in our home in his early years because he and our son, Will were friends. Adam was the type kid to always say "Yes ma´am" or "No ma´am". He loved to read and discuss difficult books. I have no doubt that he and Will pulled a few shenanigans together along the way.
I am saddened about his unexpected death at an early age. Rest in peace, Adam.
