Robert "Donald" Owens, age 88, passed away March 3, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 2, 1938, he was the son of the late Henry Owens and the late Cora Bell Owens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Sue Owens; daughter, Patsy Earwood; granddaughter, Rachel Earwood; grandson, Gordon Dowdy Jr.; brothers, Clyde Owens, Rembert "R.D." Owens, and Ralph Owens; and sisters, Mildred Pope, Shirley Perrin, and Elsie Quinn.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army beginning in 1957. He retired from the Rome Building and Trades Council after nearly 54 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Remnant Church of God in Adairsville, Georgia. Donald loved the Lord and praised Him even through his sickness. He was always willing to help anyone in need and was loved by many family members and friends. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family with all his heart.

Survivors include his children, Ronald Owens; Marilyn Marshall (Bob); Rita Duvall (Barry); Brenda Dowdy; and Teresa Cagle (Darrell); his grandchildren, Jeremy Duvall, Matthew Duvall (Lauren), Amee Edwards (Josh), Justin Lively, Sierra Owens, Brad Owens (Brittany), Billy Dowdy (Lisa), Joe Dowdy, Scott Overby, and Julie Davis (Robert). He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Pastor Keith Reid officiating.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Jeremy Duvall, Matthew Duvall, Brad Owens, Justin Lively, Josh Edwards, and great-grandson Ryan Edwards.
