Dearl Grant, 89, a longtime resident of Haskell passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, March 6, 2026, at the East Side Baptist Church in Haskell, Texas. Rev. Johnathan Stubbs will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00pm, Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the funeral home, 304 N 2nd Street, Haskell, Texas.
Dearl was born June 15, 1936 to Sallie (Abston) and Clifton Grant. He loved woodworking and gardening. He enjoyed traveling. He married Joann, September 19, 1958 in Knox City, Texas. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church in Haskell.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Grant, Jerry Grant and wife Marcia; grandson, Erik Grant and wife Joann; 2 granddaughters, Rachel Grant, Staci Rocha and husband Alex; 2 great-granddaughters, Penelope Grace Rocha, Giselle Marie Rocha; 2 great-grandsons, Peyton Ryan Grant, Jonathan Jett Grant; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded by his parents, Clifton and Sallie Grant; wife, Joann Grant; 5 sisters, Wanda Grant Phipps, Evelyn Grant, Lucille Grant Jennings, Myrtle (Dink) Grant Large, Burnidean Grant Callaway, and brother Bill Grant.
