Lana Aumer Obituary
Lana Sue Aumer
Of Waxhaw, NC
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lana Sue Aumer, who entered eternal rest on January 11th, 2025, at the age of 81. Lana was a devoted member of the Catholic faith and made her Profession into the St. Maximilian Kolbe Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order in 1989. Her life was marked by a commitment to love, service, and faith in God.
Lana married her beloved husband, Ed, on July 3,1965 in Waterloo, IA and they shared a wonderful marriage of 59 years.
Born on April 15th, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Lana was the first daughter of Wilma and Leo Vogt and is survived by her husband, Ed, her three children, Steven (Darlene), Angela (Jim), and Michael (Shannon), her sister, Roberta (Paul), her grandchildren, Mark (Ally), Leanna, Brooke, Ryan, Ethan, Luke, and soon to be great-granddaughter Isla.
Throughout her life, Lana exemplified the values of charity, compassion, grace, and kindness, always sharing her faith and service with those she loved. She was the heart and shepherd of her family, with her home as a safe sanctuary, filled with laughter and gentle prayers.
In addition to her religious devotion, Lana was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and (almost) great-grandmother. She was a source of comfort and stability, always offering encouragement and joy to her family and friends. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness, selflessness, and love will endure in our hearts and minds. Though we mourn the loss of this remarkable woman, we find peace knowing she is in the arms of the Lord, reunited with loved ones.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22nd from 6-8pm at Heritage Funeral Home, Ballantyne Chapel. A Divine Mercy Rosary prayer will be held at 6:00pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 23rd at 12pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father Kirby Celebrant. Inurnment to be held at a later date at Our Lady of Grace Columbarium.
May Lana rest in peace and experience the eternal joy of God's kingdom. Please keep her soul and family in your prayers.
