Lana Sue Ronspiez was born on April 27, 1961, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, to August and Opal Ronspiez. She was raised in Kingfisher, where she attended school and built a life filled with laughter, love, and deep community roots. In 2013, she transitioned to full-time care in a nursing facility, but her bright spirit remained unchanged.

Lana spent much of her working life in Kingfisher, first in the office of Classic Cable and later in abstract work across both Watonga and Kingfisher. She was known for her diligence, warm smile, and kind heart.

In her younger years, Lana was an avid tennis player and bowler, and a devoted fan at every Kingfisher High School sporting event—cheering with joy and pride. Her true passion, though, was country music. Garth Brooks held a special place in her heart, and for many years, she made cherished annual trips with her parents and nephew Jeremy to Nashville’s Fan Fair, soaking up concerts and meeting her favorite artists. Live shows were her happy place, where the music truly fed her soul.

Lana had an infectious laugh and a heart full of forgiveness. She never held grudges and had a remarkable ability to see the good in people. Her sense of humor and joyful nature made her beloved by all who knew her.

Lana faced her greatest challenge with astonishing grace and resilience. For the past 18 months, she bravely battled Glioblastoma, enduring one brain surgery and multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation—all without a single complaint. Through it all, she remained positive and strong, inspiring everyone around her with her courage and unwavering spirit.

She shared a particularly special bond with her nephew Jeremy and his family. Lana never missed a game, recital, or milestone of her great-nephews, Gage and Lane—cheering them on with unwavering love and pride. Her family meant the world to her, and she celebrated every accomplishment, big or small, with a full heart.

To know Lana was to love her. Her kindness, compassion, and radiant spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met. While her presence on this earth will be profoundly missed, we find comfort in knowing that heaven gained a true angel—restored in strength, standing in perfect peace at the right hand of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Opal Ronspiez.

She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her nephews, Jeremy Ronspiez and wife Beth of Stillwater, OK, and Aaron Ronspiez and wife Sarah of Security, CO. Great-nephews and nieces: Gage Ronspiez (fiancée Dominique King) of Stillwater, OK; Lane Ronspiez (fiancée Roxanne Newman) of Stillwater, OK; Joyce Ronspiez, Zackary Ronspiez, Nathaniel Ronspiez, and Grace Ronspiez—all of Security, CO. Great-great-nephews and nieces: Lilee, Harper, Draco, Derrick, Zaya, and Zoey, all of Stillwater, OK.

She is also survived by her brother, Ronnie Ronspiez (Dona) of Westville, OK; niece, Heather Byrum (Duane) of Little Kansas, OK; nephew, Ryan Ronspiez of Westville, OK; and great-nieces and nephews, Katelyn and Ashley Byrum, and Michael, Phoenix, and Resin Ronspiez.; along with countless other family and friends.

The family would like to extend our utmost gratitude to the staff at Westhaven Nursing & Rehab in Stillwater, OK. For over ten years, they treated Lana like family. Even when we couldn’t be present, we knew she was being truly loved and appreciated.

We are remembering Lana with a memorial service to be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Dover Christian Church, Dover, OK. In honor of Lana, please wear something purple—her favorite color.
