Lance was born in Clinton, Missouri on December 17, 1979. He is survived by his parents, Rocky E. and Kathleen (Kathi) (Bell) Austin, his brother Jason Austin, and his two children, Kaiden Austin and Molly Austin.

Lance attended Clinton Schools and graduated in the CHS Class of 1998. After graduation, he attended Longview Community College. Following a life-altering car wreck in 1999 which left him with a traumatic brain injury, which required months of rehabilitation, he began his studies to be a Massage Therapist at Heritage College, finishing at the top of his class. He also passed his Missouri State Boards for Certification. He continued to practice Massage Therapy until the time of his death.

Throughout his life, Lance attended the Clinton Methodist Church. He was a member of the Clinton Eagles Lodge where he enjoyed playing shuffleboard, Taco Night, and socializing with his friends. He enjoyed family reunions, family history and genealogy, and holiday dinners. He was incredibly curious, was interested in talking about religion and philosophy. He was always in pursuit of knowledge and was a scholar in his own right. He loved to talk about and watch movies. Even in death, Lance showed his love and concern for those around him. He has been a registered organ donor for the past twenty-two years and will now help many transplant recipients through his generosity.

Lance was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernest (Pat) and Olive Bell, parental grandfather, Everett E. Austin.

Lance is survived by his children; Kaiden Austin, Sedalia, Missouri and Molly Austin, Marthasville, Missouri, brother, Jason (Kristi) Austin and daughter, Kenadie, Clinton, Missouri, grandmother, Wilma Austin, Clinton, Missouri; uncles Kenton Bell (Mary Lynn) Pleasanton, Kansas, Ernie (Vicky) Austin, Clinton, Missouri; cousins, Jamie (Kim) Austin, Green Ridge, Missouri, Casey (Dustin) Rodgers, Warrensburg, Missouri.
