It is with great sadness and loving hearts that we announce the passing of Lance Dennis Flamand, who left us peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 69.
Lance was born on September 19, 1956, in Elk Point, Alberta, and spent most of his life in Fishing Lake, Alberta, where he was raised and built countless lifelong friendships and memories. In 2012, he moved to Calgary to be closer to his family, whom he loved more than anything in the world.
Lance is survived by his loving wife Paulette Flamand; his son Bo Flamand and spouse Tane Boyd; his daughters Tania Flamand and her daughters Henslee and Leilani Flamand; and Desiree Flamand and her husband Anthoney Stan and their son Malakai Stan. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers Mervin (Lori Kay), Craig (Michelle), and Calvin (Helen), along with their families, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lance was predeceased by his parents Alex and Elizabeth (Daisy) Flamand; his sisters Marlene Carriere, Beverly Flamand, and Eunice Flamand; and many other beloved brothers and sisters who went before him.
Lance was known for his kind heart, great sense of humour, and deep love for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren—his beloved “G-babys”—who brought endless joy to his life. He had a gift for music and could often be found playing guitar, singing, or dancing, always bringing smiles to those around him. A lifelong Edmonton Oilers fan, Lance’s enthusiasm for hockey matched his passion for life itself.
To know Lance was to know laughter, warmth, and generosity. He was the best dad, an amazing grandpa, a loving brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. His spirit, kindness, and the beautiful memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Forever in our hearts, his song will never fade.
