Landon Cale Bodie, 18, of Leesville, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 27, 2024. He was a recent graduate of Blythewood High School, where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and developed a love for agriculture. His passion for working with his hands led him to spend countless hours alongside his grandfather, Wayne Bodie, honing his carpentry skills and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Landon had a deep connection with the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing in his spare time. In addition to his many hobbies, Landon dedicated his time to serving others as a volunteer firefighter with the Circle Fire Department. His commitment to helping those in need and protecting his community was a testament to his selflessness and bravery.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Sylvia Crout (Steven); siblings, Ellie and Everette Crout; grandparents, Wayne and Sharon Bodie, and Joe and Brenda Crout; along with his great-grandmothers, Annie Fae Gulledge and Thelma Gable. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Donald Ray Bodie and Kenneth Gulledge, and his great-great-grandparents, Ophelia and Jack Clark.
The funeral service for Landon Cale will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 6th, at the Batesburg-Leesville High School Fine Arts Center with interment to follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Robert Culbertson and Rev. Judd Hook will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 PM prior to the service beginning at the Fine Arts Center. Milton Shealy Funeral of Batesburg is assisting the family.
